Mélodies in the Grand Salon Singer Allyson Briggs and her band, Fleur Seule, on Reviving Old Hollywood Glamour, the Art of Performance, and Her Musical Affair with Manhattan. Step into the Grand Salon, where time slows and the world outside dissolves into a golden reverie of flickering candlelight, shimmering crystal, and the velvety allure of live jazz. This timeless atmosphere finds its perfect counterpart in Fleur Seule, the celebrated ensemble led by the captivating Allyson Briggs. Fleur Seule brings the glamour of retro jazz to life every Wednesday and Friday, weaving together French chanson, Latin rhythms, and classic jazz for an experience as refined as Baccarat itself. As the band marks its 11th year, we sit down with Allyson Briggs to discuss her journey, the inspirations behind each note, and the seamless harmony between music and a setting designed for indulgence. Setting the Stage with Allyson Briggs, Vocalist and Bandleader of Fleur Seule Your music transports listeners to another era—romantic, sophisticated, and effortlessly chic. What inspired you to create Fleur Seule, and how has your journey evolved over the years? I wanted to keep the spirit of Old Hollywood and its glamour alive and thriving in NYC. When you think of Manhattan, you picture well-dressed socialites and Broadway stars, with live music at every corner and this infectious energy and passion for life. Through my efforts to bring my own fresh spin to this repertoire, Fleur Seule was created. We have been blessed to perform in iconic NYC venues over the years, as I have become adept at blending our work seamlessly into the room we are in. Baccarat Hotel has had my eye for quite some time and I am thrilled to be sharing our music here in our 11th year as a group. Baccarat has long been synonymous with artistry and refinement, much like the music you create. What does this collaboration mean to you, and how do you see the Baccarat experience reflected in your performances? I am honored to be partnering with Baccarat and I think we are a perfect pairing because both our brands were created with an eye for detail and mastery of craft. I like to create a complete experience for my audience - I want them to time travel with me and to relax into a nostalgic, romantic vibe that the Grand Salon creates visually. Your senses will be pampered. Your repertoire spans a world of influences, from classic jazz to French chanson and Latin rhythms. How do you select your setlists, and what emotions do you hope to evoke for your audience? I love variety and New York City inspires me! Baccarat Hotel guests hail from around the globe to catch a glimpse of the beautiful rooms and soak in NYC culture. As they do, I take a cue from them and treat them to a song from home, in their language. I think when you make the effort to connect with people in that way it makes their visit special and memorable. I adjust to the natural energy of the room, sometimes we are in a jazz lounge mood, other times, the energy calls for faster tempos and perhaps 3-4 different languages that are being spoken in the room. I like to incorporate everything that is happening in the moment, organically. Looking ahead, what’s next for Fleur Seule? Are there any new inspirations, projects, or musical destinations on the horizon? I look forward to the changing seasons of New York, and the guests who will pay us a visit in the Grand Salon. While I serenade them at night, I will continue my work by day writing my next album of original music. It is 1950s inspired, but that is all I can reveal at the moment! An Evening in Harmony Twice a week, the Grand Salon comes alive with the enchanting melodies of Fleur Seule. Every Wednesday and Friday, unwind with the soulful voice of Allyson Briggs as she transports you through decades of jazz and romance, perfectly paired with exquisite cocktails and an atmosphere of pure indulgence.
