Tsar Nicholas II Afternoon Tea Tsar Nicholas Afternoon Tea Service is a celebration of champagne, caviar, and the time-honored tradition of afternoon tea at the Baccarat Hotel. The weather is perfect to enjoy our Tsar Nicholas II afternoon tea, the newest addition to the Grand Salon tea program that creates an opulent experience for two offered in four-courses. Included among the specialty menu’s inspired offerings are Petrossian caviar, Krug champagne, and vodka-infused blinis. The Tsar Nicholas II tea celebrates historical figures that have associations with the legendary Baccarat crystal brand. Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia, fell in love with the glittering world of Baccarat during a visit to Paris, France. As a result, he commissioned so many crystal pieces that Baccarat created a separate furnace in 1906 to accommodate his requests. His ultimate wish was to show the modernity of Russia and to demonstrate his love for his wife. From the famous Tsar Vodka glass, to the Candelabra du Tsar, some of Baccarat’s most spectacular creations were for the Russian Tsars. Tea Sommelier Gabrielle Jammal oversees the hotel’s inventive afternoon tea program. “Tea is such a significant part of our lives and a very personal passion for so many around the world,” says Gabrielle. “Creating this type of tea experience for our guests is the most rewarding part of what I do,” she adds.
